This Day is Important - International Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day my lovelies! As a Women and Gender Studies grad, this was always a big day in my academic career. I've been beyond busy-fest lately, but I couldn't let this day go by without a little something for my readers. I love sharing what's really important to me, with you :)

Here's a list of some of my favourite females - both real and otherwise

My mama...as if there were any doubt
My aunts - truly some of the most amazing women around. They've all brought me into their lives as their own daughter and for this I'm so grateful
My sisters - two of the best gals around for reasons I don't have time to list here
My grade nine math teacher, Mrs. Collarusso - for finally getting me to understand integers
Elle Woods - Reese Witherspoon's character in the Legally Blonde movies is a gal I can relate to
Sometimes an abundance of blonde hair, a pink wardrobe and a small dog gives people the impression that you're a moron. Not so. And Elle Woods proves it with her determination to get through law school. Good for you blondie!
Judy Blume - a favourite author of mine growing up. If you're a girl, you've hopefully read some of her books
My female profs - Lucky enough to spend my education dollars at the University of Toronto, I was blessed to sit in the lectures of some brilliant women. One of them was quoted in a Toronto paper today actually.
Oprah - she opened me up to emotions I never knew I had.
Female bloggers - too many to name, but I'd thank each of them personally when and if I ever meet them in person. They inspire me daily to keep up with the blog. Their creativity astounds me and their commitment gives me drive.

Who are the important females in your life?
